The Science Museum of Minnesota supports and encourages the access and use of its collections for research, educational, and exhibition purposes.
On-site access to the collections is by appointment only. Requests must be submitted at least one month in advance. Availability of the collections depends on staffing, conservation requirements, cultural sensitivity, and other considerations. Generally, visits must be scheduled during regular business hours, Monday-Friday 9:00-5:00.

The Science Museum of Minnesota encourages wide dissemination of findings and requests that visitors share their results and publications with SMM.
