The Science Museum of Minnesota is excited to announce that our summer camps will be returning this year! We’re looking forward to welcoming new and returning campers to both virtual online and in-person classes, offered June 14 through September 3, 2021.

All 2021 summer camps are available in-person and online in two age brackets: 6–8 and 9–12.

Art Lab

Art and Science

Use science to create art and use art to enjoy science! Campers will experiment with different materials, techniques, and mediums to explore where art and science meet.

In-Person Dates: June 28 -July 2, July 19- 23, August 9 - 13, August 30 - September 3

Virtual Dates: July 12 - 16, August 23 - 27

Code & Play

Computer Science

Tinker with coding and creativity! Explore logic, patterns, and sequence as you program interactive games, tell stories, and discover new ways to express yourself with computers.

In-Person Dates: June 28 -July 2, July 26 - 30, August 23 - 27

Virtual Dates: June 14 - 18, August 30 - September 3

Colossal Fossils

Paleontology

The world is 4.5 billion years old, which means there's tons of past life to learn about. In this camp, learners will meet Science Museum dinosaurs, uncover fossils, and learn about science millions of years in the making.

In-Person Dates: June 14 - 18, July 12 - 16, August 9 - 13

Virtual Dates: July 19 - 23

Dream & Design

Engineering

Become an engineer and learn how to discover new ideas when old ones fail, then create and test solutions. Some designs will get better and better, and others may fail spectacularly, but this class will teach campers to have fun no matter what happens.

In-Person Dates: June 21 - 25, July 12 - 16, August 2 - 6, August 23 - 27

Virtual Dates: July 5 - 9, August 9 - 13

Expedition Biology

Biology

Campers will take a tour through the wonders of the living world and learn how to think like a scientist to better understand and take care of the living things around them.

In-Person Dates: June 21 - 25, July 19 - 23, August 16 - 20

Myriad Mounds of Matter

Physics and STEM

Play with solids and liquids, colors and light. Toy around with science, technology, engineering, and math to explore how materials interact in fun and unexpected ways.

Science for Sorcerers

Art and Science

Calling all campers and wizards! Bust out your cauldrons, open your spellbooks, and get excited for a week of practical sorcery. Experience the magic of everyday science by mixing potions, creating illusions, and incorporating science with practical magic.
