Being the first in her family to go to college was a mix of inspiration and pressure for Alex, but now growing cells, navigating complicated regulations, and busting stereotypes in a male-dominated field are all part of a day’s work in her STEM career.
“Being a good scientist, to me, means having passion in your work. As daunting as some of the science fields seem, as long as you just stick to it, and if that’s really what you want to do, you’ll come out in the end.”
