Sensory Friendly Sundays

At the Science Museum, we strive to create a learning environment that is fun and fulfilling for all explorers. During Sensory Friendly hours, individuals and families can enjoy a quieter, less sensory-stimulating museum experience.

On the first Sunday of the month, the Science Museum hosts Sensory Friendly Sundays, where visitors who learn best in a calmer environment can experience a lights-up, sound-down Omnitheater show at 10 a.m.

General admission tickets include Omnitheater movies. Discounts are available for individuals, families, and groups with limited incomes. Admission is free for working Personal Care Attendants when they’re visiting with a client.

This program was created in consultation with the Autism Society of Minnesota (AuSM).

We have a variety of tools available to help our visitors with sensory issues make the most of their visit. Ask at the Exhibits Entrance for sound-dampening headphones, a timer, or a kit containing headphones, fidgets, gloves, and sunglasses.
