Immerse yourself in the vibrant culture, eclectic architecture, and pristine ecosystems of the Caribbean island of Cuba. Through the eyes of Cuban artists, historians, and scientists, the movie is a vivid glimpse into the nation’s history and spirit. Cuba transports audiences across breathtaking landscapes, under the ocean surface to iridescent reefs, and into streets humming with music and dance.

Three storylines weave together: One presents Patricia Torres Diaz, a young ballet dancer hoping to land a highly sought-after role with the Cuban National Ballet Company. Another follows Eusebio Leal, city historian of Havana, in his life’s work to preserve the unique architecture and history of the capital city. The final arc shares the work of Fernando Bretos and Dr. Daria Siciliano, a marine science duo studying Cuba’s coral reefs, which have thrived and grown while other reefs worldwide die out. These storylines ground the film in the human experience while also illustrating the island’s unique ecosystem and cultural diversity.
