Field trip pricing and scheduling
Field trips cost $8.00 per student for standard school groups or $3.00 per student for reduced-price eligible school groups.
Omnitheater movies cost $5.00 per student for standard school groups or $3.00 per student for reduced-price eligible school groups.
Chaperone admission is free for groups with a chaperone-to-student ratio of 1:5 or higher. If a group has more than one chaperone per five students, chaperone admission is the same as the student rate.
Schools with 50% or more of their students approved for free and reduced-price meals are eligible for reduced-price tickets.
Payment must be received two weeks in advance of the visit by credit card or single check, made out to the Science Museum of Minnesota. If mailed, please write “Attn: Accounting” above our address (120 W Kellogg Blvd, St. Paul, MN 55102).
Changes may be made prior to payment and no later than two weeks prior to your visit by calling the Contact Center. If paying by check, we recommend payment being sent at least three weeks prior to arrival. We do not accept purchase orders.
All reservations must be paid in full prior to museum entry. No refunds will be issued after payment has been received. Any adjustments will be made in the form of vouchers for a future visit.
Booking a field trip
To book a field trip, please make a request online, or call the Contact Center at (651) 221-9444. Field trips are available to book any time during our usual business hours.
Schools with 50% or more of their students approved for free and reduced-price meals may be eligible for the museum's discounted rates for field trips and school programs. You may also qualify for bussing assistance. Please fill out this form if you would like to be considered.
Eligibility and field trip visitor limits
All K–12 students are eligible for field trips. We also offer group pricing for ages outside of this range through the Contact Center.
Final count and cancellations
Cancellations and adjustments to final numbers must be made no later than two weeks in advance of your visit and prior to final payment by calling the museum Contact Center at (651) 221-9444. After that time no adjustments will be made. Vouchers for future use will be issued for any absentees on the day of your visit.
