Funder Spotlight: PNC
Communities come together in times of crisis, and we are so grateful to community partners like PNC Bank, Kids in Need Foundation, and Serve Minnesota for helping the Science Museum provide and distribute at-home science activity kits to 5,000 families in the Twin Cities area. The science kits were created and specially curated by Science Museum educators for preschool-aged children, and contain instructions, materials, and a parent guide offered in both Spanish and English.
Answering the needs of our community is nothing new to any of these organizations. ServeMinnesota works with AmeriCorps members and community partners to meet critical needs throughout Minnesota, with a focus on solving tough problems in educational achievement, economic opportunity, and environmental protection. The Kids In Need Foundation’s mission is to ensure that every child is prepared to learn and succeed in the classroom by providing free school supplies nationally to students most in need.
You may know PNC Bank for its financial services, or from its support of preschool activities in our galleries. The institution is also providing online resources for families and educators during the pandemic, including free online courses for early childhood educators, free lesson plans, storybook videos, and more.
Thank you to PNC Bank, Kids in Need Foundation, and Serve Minnesota for their dedication to helping provide science education tools in these extraordinary circumstances. Without partners like these, we wouldn’t be able to continue our mission to “turn on the science” and inspire learning, inform policy, and improve lives.
