Ceramic Virgin of Solitude (Virgen de la Soledad) figurine. Mexican folk art. Signed by Estela Aguilar, daughter of Concepción Aguilar, Ocotlán, Oaxaca. Hand-built around a central conical form. Flat, triangular robe with projecting hands. Made from low-fire terra cotta clay, painted with black, yellow, gold, white, and tan acrylic paint after firing. Gold and siver glitter decoration on obverse.
