Shirt
A woman’s wedding huipil made from three pieces of white cotton fabric which were hand woven on a backstrap loom and joined together with embroidery floss in colors of green, pink, purple, orange, dark red, aqua, spruce, blue, and brown. A 15 cm section of the seams on each side are left open to act as armholes. The bottom 33 cm of the huipil is covered with rows of white chicken feathers and wool brocade in the colors dark red, orange, green, light green, gold, dark brown, light brown, black, yellow, and purple. In the center of the front of the huipil is a square of chicken feathers and wool (26.5 cm x 15 cm). The background cloth behind the feathers is colored because the weft threads are colored wool instead of the cotton which is used for the rest of the base fabric. The huipil has a square neck opening which is finished in green cotton thread.
