Mexican (Mayo, Northwest Mexico) Chapakobam (Pharisee) mask; made of white fur/hide (goat?) in helmet style which covers the entire head; leather ears painted with pink and purple diagonal lines, eyes and mouth drawn on where fur was shaved, eyes are black and perforated (for wearer's sight); mouth drawn on in pink, flap of leather with punk and purple painted lines attached above eyes, would have been used during Easter Week celebrations (Cordry, 55); depicts a cross between human and animal; ears are bent over forehead area of mask
