COMB

Aguaruna comb. Natural teeth made of palm held together by two sets of four sticks running horizontally at top of comb. These sticks are tied together and to the teeth of the comb with white cotton thread. Between the two rows of horizontal sticks is a triangular pattern created by weaving the white thread between the teeth of the comb. A tassle of toucan feathers is attached to the comb by a longer, twisted section of the white thread. Cotton thread is hand-spun. Combs often stuck in hair for decoration.
