Funder Spotlight: 3M
Our Science Museum Full STEM Ahead students and a local Girl Scout troop were in the presence of royalty, thanks to our partner 3M and Camille Schrier, Miss America 2020.
Camille is a Doctor of Pharmacy Student and prescription safety advocate who was named Miss Virginia after breaking from tradition to perform the “Elephant's Toothpaste” experiment as her onstage talent. Camille, and Audrey Sherman, division scientist at 3M, joined students at the Science Museum of Minnesota to share the chemistry experiment that won Camille the crown, followed by a Q&A session with both groups that included some life lessons about being true to yourself and following your dreams to unexpected paths to success.
Camille’s visit kicked off 3M’s education goal of creating five million unique STEM and skilled trades learning experiences for individuals underrepresented in STEM by 2025. Thank you to 3M for providing students at the Science Museum with this opportunity! Check out the experiment and Q&A in the video below.
