Patrick Hamilton, Director of Global Change Initiatives
I took a break from sheltering in place this morning to step outside and clean a neighborhood storm drain that I adopted through Hamline University’s “Adopt-a-Drain” program. I was glad to clear the grate of last fall’s leaves but especially pleased to catch some plastic bags before they escaped down the drain.
The water that goes into our neighborhood storm drains flows—untreated—directly into our lakes and rivers. Consider adopting a storm drain and join your many fellow urban residents who have chosen to be on the front line of keeping our waters clean.
