Virtual and In-Person Assemblies and Residencies

Bring the wonders of science up-close with interactive, fun experiments run by expert educators through assemblies and residencies.

Live stream assemblies

The Science Museum of Minnesota offers free, live stream assemblies on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. and Thursdays at 2 p.m. through the Science Museum of Minnesota YouTube Channel. Find a schedule of upcoming events on our Facebook page. These assemblies for K–5 students explore how engineers do what they do, the changes water goes through in Minnesota’s seasons, and even the surprising connections between today’s animals and dinosaurs. Our STEM educators will be presenting the same content they present in-person but over a digital live stream that you can access wherever you are. No registration is required.

In-school or Remote Assemblies

If you’d like to schedule an in-school or remote assembly just for your students, get in touch! We’ll bring the teacher, the tools, the expertise, and the plan. You provide the classroom and the students. Together, we’ll make a great science learning team!

Health and safety

At this time, we will only be delivering in-person programs at schools that are taking a COVID-19 transmission preventative posture sufficient for large gatherings. If social distancing is limited, we may ask students to mask during our programming. If masking is not available, we may ask for a larger, better-ventilated space.

If your school cannot accommodate our in-person programs, please consider a virtual assembly, our weekly live streams, or our online lessons

These guidelines are subject to change, and all in-person programs are conditional upon the COVID-19 situation on the scheduled program date(s).
